The Atonement Academy is the parish school of Our Lady of the Atonement Catholic Church, a personal parish of the Pastoral Provision in the Archdiocese of San Antonio. Our school was founded in 1994 and added a high school program in 2004. We have been recognizedas a national Blue Ribbon School and as one of The Nation’s Top 50 Catholic High Schools. Our school is located in the northwest section of San Antonio.
We employ qualified faculty members who are faithful Catholics and who share our vision for college preparatory education in the classical and Catholic scholastic tradition, enriched by daily attendance at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and a strong choral music program. All students receive religious instruction that is completely in accordance with the teachings of the Church. Faculty members annually swear the Oath of Fidelity to the Magisterium of the Church. Faculty members are urged to participate in parish life, and are required to serve as examples to the students, living in accord with the Precepts of the Church.
Employment is by annual Teacher Ministry Agreement in the form prescribed by the Archdiocesan Department of Catholic Schools. Compensation is based upon the Atonement salary scale which exceeds the Archdiocesan recommended amounts.
Our classrooms are self-contained in Grades Pre-K through 5th, while Grades 6th through 12th are served by a middle and upper school faculty of subject matter specialists. Most teachers on our Middle and Upper School faculty specialize in two disciplines and teach them across the range of grades 6 through 12.
We are always interested in discussing future years’ needs with qualified teachers who share our vision for classical and Catholic education. In filling teaching positions we are particularly interested in speaking with candidates with additional qualifications in Latin or Athletics.
