At the Atonement Academy, physical education is highly regarded and considered a vital component in the education of the complete person. Participation in athletics encourages young people to develop important virtues such as loyalty, perseverance, friendship, sharing and solidarity. Because physical education is an integral part of the curriculum, every student is required to improve in physical strength, stamina, and skill.
Whether students are participating in a sport or cheering for their friends, extracurricular activities such as our athletic programs unite our students outside of the classroom. Participation in CYO sports keep our littlest Crusaders busy in competition with T-ball, soccer, and basketball. On the middle school level, competition with other Catholic schools heightens as the Crusaders in grades 6, 7 and 8 compete in volleyball, basketball, track, flag football and soccer. Our varsity sports teams are competitive in golf, basketball and soccer for our young men, and we won our school's first district championship in high school sports with our golf team in 2008. In volleyball our young ladies are highly competitive, and the girls' varsity team qualified for playoffs this year.
