As I write this Fr. Ed. is on his death bed in a local hospital. I learned of this several hours ago. For all I know he may have passed away by now.
Please pray for Fr. Ed.
Thanks,
Jim C.

Post subject: Emergency Prayer Request for Father Edward Rivera
Of your charity, I request your prayers on behalf of Fr. Edward Rivera, a priest of the Archdiocese of Santa Fe. Fr. Ed was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer about 8 months ago. He was supposed to be dead by Christmas. As of last Sunday he had been given 24 hours to live. He is still alive but barely holding on.
Fr. Ed is in his first year of ordination to the Sacred Priesthood as Pariochial Vicar of Risen Savior Catholic Community in Albuquerque, NM. He is unequivocably orthodox in the Catholic faith. I find it very strange that I would have to say this in these confusing and troubling times for the Catholic Church as well as for all of Christianity in the Western World!
In worldly terms Father Ed will die soon, very soon. Pancreatic cancer has an extremely high mortality rate and very low rate of remission. He has gone through every medical treatment available and now all that is left is to wait for the seemingly inevitable result, his very painful death.
Nonetheless the Archdiocese of Santa Fe for these past 8 months has been requesting prayers for the intercession of Blessed Keri Tekawitha on Fr. Ed's behalf. I too add my request that CF participants pray for Fr. Ed too. I had posted a similar request several months ago on the York Forum and I am now posting an updated emergency request here.
I pray that the Lord work His Will in Fr. Ed's life and I pray through the intercession of Blessed Keri Tekawitha that His Will be that Fr. Ed survives this miserable disease and continues to live out his sacramental priesthood in this world for many years to come.
Thanks and may God bless you all,
Jim C.
